With our special membership to the Big Trees Village Recreation Center, guests of the DiLoreto Mountain Home are privileged to visit the Recreation Center at no charge. The Recreation Center is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It's open just on weekends until the third week of June and 7 days a week until Labor day.

DIRECTIONS: The recreation center is located only about a half-mile away from the house. You pass by it on the way in. To get there from the house, go back to Sierra Parkway and turn left. When the road divides, stay to the right and make a U-turn when the divide ends. Not the first drive right there, but the next one is where you turn into the parking lot.

There is plenty of shaded parking among the big trees. Follow the pathway that starts at the parking lot up to the clubhouse.

 

 

On the way there, you will pass the children's play area with swings slides and monkey bars.

 

 

When you walk up the incline to the gate, you will see a number of announcements of current activities and events. Just past the gate on the right is the sign in sheet. Enter your name and 6-126, which is the unit and lot number.
The first thing you will see is the lower pool. This smaller, warmer pool with a depth of 3ft. to 6ft. is a favorite of the smaller children. It usually opens at noon but check the daily schedule. Ping pong tables are just off to the right.
Just past the ping pong tables is the Snack Bar, which is usually open most of the afternoon. Small softserve ice cream cones are only $1.00.
The upper pool is a full-size 25-yds. with a diving board. Check the schedule for lap swim at certain times and for general swim at others. It is surrounded by umbrella tables and a large grassy area with some shade for poolside picnics.
Elsewhere on the grounds are tennis courts, basketball courts and shuffleboard, tucked away among large trees and abundant shaded picnic tables. More information is available at the Big Trees Village website.
