01) You know what it means if someone tell you to "Hit
Eight Mile."
02) As a child you thought the big tire on I-94 might roll away one
day.
03) You got excited about going to Bob-Lo (or seeing Captain Bob-Lo)
Moonlight Cruises or Edgewater Amusement Park.
04) You remember cheering from one end of the tunnel to the other while
going to Belle Isle.
05) You rode horses or the horse drawn carriages on Belle Isle and made
out at the fountain after a date.
06) You have ever shopped at Hughes and Hatchers, B. Siegel, Peck and
Peck, Himelhoch's, Federal's, Crowley's, Winkelman's, Arlan's, EJ Korvett,
Robert Hall, Kern's or Berlin's.
07) You've ever played on the escalator at Hudson's downtown.
08) You remember when Northland or Eastland was not an enclosed mall.
09) Playing on the statues at the malls. Sculptor Marshall Frederick
has all his work at Saginaw Valley SU MI Campus.
10) You remember mayors other than Young and Arches, and you know who
Cobo was.
11) You remember what you were doing when you got word there was a riot
going on.
12) You thought driving to Southfield was going "out to the country."
13) You remember the "Big Snow, Buffalo Bob, Howdy Doody, Calarabell,
Phineas T. Bluster, Princess Summer-Fall-Winter-Spring."
14) You remember Twin Pines Dairy delivered milk and juice to the chute
on the side of your house. You went on tours at Twin Pines Dairy. Milky
the Clown performed Magic with the magic words, "Twin Pines."
15) You remember the Good Humor man in a white uniform, on a bicycle
with a freezer attached to it and ringing the bells riding down your
street.
16) You saw Marvin Gaye,the Beatles, Herman and the Hermits sing at
the Olympia Stadium.
17) You remember the Olympia Stadium and the Red Wings.
18) You remember the Detroit Wheels football team.
19) You sometimes wonder what happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
20) You remember when there was no Lodge Freeway, no I-696, and I-75
only went as far as Troy.
21) You remember when Vernor's was made on Woodward and the bearded
troll was on the bottle.
22) You drank Towne Club pop (or Oh-So pop).
23) You bought groceries at Chatham's, Food Fair, Great Scott and Wrigley's.
24) Your school took a bus trip to "the cider mill" and had
donuts and cider after the tour. (Yates Cider Mill).
25) Your school took a bus trip to Kellogg's in Battle Creek and received
cereal.
26) Your school took a bus trip to Better Made and New Era potato chip
factory. Also Sanders and Coca-Cola bottling plant. At Wonder Bread
plant you received tiny leaves of bread.
27) You had an Uncle in the furniture business (Joshua Doore).
28) You know who Bill Kennedy or the Ghoul is.
30) You remember this telephone number: Tyler 8-7100 (Belvedere Construction).
32) You saw the Lion's play football at Tiger (Briggs) Stadium.
33) You remember the Grande Ballroom.
34) You remember the big stove on Jefferson near Belle Isle.
35) You remember this phrase "suga is suga and salt is salt, if
you didn't get off, it's not my fault."
36) You remember Carol Duval craft show.
37) You remember the Faygo pop song being sung on the Bob-Lo boat ("which
way did he go, which way did he go...")
38) You watched Rita Bell's Prize Movies in the morning.
39) You know of Sonny Elliot (Weatherman), Jack LeGoff (Newsman) and
Van Patrick (Sports).
40) You remember Milky the Clown, Soupy Sales, Black Tooth, White Fang,
Uncle Bob, Poopdeck Paul and Captain Jolly. Also Jerry Booth, Cecil
B. Rabbit, Herkimer Dragon, Jingles, and the court Jester (on CKLW).
